Jello!!!

One of the first things we were told when we started down this RV road was that things change.  We have started, as many do, to use the code word "Jello".  When you make a plan you better make it knowing it is like a hand full of Jello.  If everything goes right you can hold Jello in your hand for a while, but there are lots of things that make it really hard to hold it together for long.  RV travel plans are like that.  For example, torrential rain at the place you planned to go next will certainly "jiggle your Jello" and make it impossible to hold together.

We have a wonderful lot we call home base.  Good friends just said, use it as long as you want.  It does not get much better than that.  It is where we head when we want to check in and on friends and family.  We were going there yesterday.  I say were because our plans became a little jiggly when it rained every day for a week and ended with a one hour, two inch finally.  Now our home base is now a home mud bog, and plans must change.  We can't go to home base.   Oh and yeah we can't stay here past Thursday and we have doctors appointments  in Tyler this week.
Simple, find a place to stay in a Tyler rv park.  Of course it is vacation high season here in Texas so all the good, cheap places are gone.  Most of the good expensive places are gone too. Therefore, we are left looking for a place which will most assuredly be both expensive and lousy.
.
So we begin to search in hopes of grabbing a new hand full of the wobbly stuff we call a plan.  I won't bore you with all the details, in fact we still haven't found a place to go.  We will.  I just wanted you to know that there are some interesting things that most people will never think about when they think of full time RV living.  It ain't all giggles, beautiful sunsets and panoramic vistas of mountains and lakes. Sometimes it's just Jello.

These are just the ramblings of an old Rockin' RoVer rocking and roving on.  Thanks.

PS  We sold the house, moved to our RV and bought a truck, but that is another story or two.
