High and going higher:

Today we are in Sante Fe at the Santa Fe Skys RV park.  It actually sits outside the city and looks down on Santa Fe.  It has been described by many as a "pricey but nice RV park".  I agree.  It is the most expensive place we have stayed, but it is the best park in Santa Fe and we are kinda lucky to have a place here just before the 4th.

We continue to learn the ropes of RV life. I'm actually improving on my backing, but still far from proficient.  We have had pull-thru spots at our last 2 to 3 places, but even that can be a challenge.  I always want the fiver exactly lined up in the right place on the space.  Mom agrees, but some times we have trouble communicating exactly what has to happen for that to occur.  She hops out of the truck when we arrive at our site and proceeds to give hand signals to direct my positioning.  We have discussed the hand signals several times, but in the heat of the moment she is prone to improvise.  She also sometimes assumes I can see around corners with my mirrors.  To her, spinning fingers and flapping hands mean some exact move I am suppose to make with the trailer,, but often that meaning is lost on me.  I do know that Nora's patented," I'm fixin to poop" look on Pam's face means I have not fulfilled my duty.  Also the phrase "OK now go straight back" sounds easy, but often is impossible to do when the truck is already a  60 degree angle to the trailer.  We, however, have managed to avoid public screaming sessions (mostly) and nearly always end up somewhere near where we are suppose to be.

Today I'm gonna do some service to the fiver, wash the truck, and get a haircut. After that maybe some grocery shopping.  I know that is all mundane when you live in a town you know well.  Here it is a big time Google activity, followed by Google maps, and Yelp reviews.  I have found there are many opinions about the quality of haircuts and self-serve car washes.  I guess you pays your money and takes your chances.

We had a fun time in Albuquerque seeing Old Town ABQ plus the touristy Botanical Garden and Aquarium.  I think we will be able to skip those last two in most of the places we visit from  now on.  Oh yeah.  As we were leaving the park there, Mom and I recognized the trailer of one of the people who's blog I have been following.  They just happened end up in the same park as us.  I stopped and introduce myself and got to meet Kyle and Olivia from the Youtube blog "Drivin and Vibin" ,  Google it and see who they are. I was like meeting a rock star for me.  They were very nice and gracious while we visited.

Guess that's kind of an up date.  We will be here at 7100 feet above sea level for a few days then on higher up to Colorado.  So for now these are just some ramblins from an old Rockin RoVer, rocking and roven on.  Thanks
